The Case for Friendships

One of the biggest perks of posting on a forum like the one at VFG is that people get to know you and to know the types of things you collect and  look for.  All those extra eyes can come in handy, as in the case of this great booklet.  I totally missed it, but my friend Jody of coutureallurevintage.com saw it on eBay and emailed me just in the knick of time!

It was published by the Ladies Home Journal in 1938, and it’s full of what to pack for that up-coming travel adventure: “Travel Clothes for the Globe-Trotters of the USA”.

The best advice: Take everything you need; don’t take anything you don’t need. And this was written in the days when it was assumed a woman would have a large wardrobe trunk, plus hatbox, shoebag and overnight case!
