Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to check in here at the new home of The Vintage Traveler. I really appreciate all of you who have posted, subscribed, up-dated links, tweeted…all those things. It is still going to be a few days before things are back to normal (whatever that is!) around here, especially with Christmas coming up and all.
In the meantime, I’ll try to keep posting a few of my favorite Christmas and winter cards. For some reason, those late 1920s greeting card artists had a thing for red skys. I’m thinking it was purely for effect -that Christmas cards had to have a big chunk of red in them, and the sky was the only place to put it in this lovely picture. At any rate, it makes for a stunning sky, don’t you think?
lovely card! i’ve been going through all my vintage xmas photos, which actually puts me more in the spirit than most things christmas.
(i was having trouble with commenting the other day, hence the double-comments on a previous post. computers!).

Lisa, One of the big reasons I decided to move this blog to wordpress was because of the posting snafu last week. It actually was the final straw for me and bravejournal.
I’ve got dozens of Vintage Christmas cards that I need to scan. Someday…
