Ad Campaign – Parfums Corday, 1941

It seems like a gift of fragrance has always been a popular option.  This charming ad from 1941 has the perfumes of Corday dominating a winter landscape.

Probably the best known of the Corday perfumes was Toujours Moi.  It was the first fragrance released by Corday, in 1924.   The scent remained popular into the 1940s.  Today Dana Perfumes owns the rights to Toujours Moi, and they still produce a perfume by that name.

  1. Ooh I didn’t know that they still produce perfumes! I shall have to keep a look out.

  2. Yes…Traveler, perfume is always a good gift choice. When I was a kid back in the 40’s…we always gave mom a tiny blue bottle of Evening in Paris. Of course we shopped in the 5 and dime store for our gifts. I am enjoying all the memories flashing into my mind after reading your blog. Thanks. Marge

  5. I love the ad also, it’s so beautiful! I’d frame it and hang it on my wall! Does anyone know if the newer perfume smells the same as the original?

  8. What a sweet ad. I love the idea of perfume bottles as modern architecture. It also makes me realize that I don’t wear ‘scent’ anymore. I used to have my pretty bottles all lined up on my dresser. Now that they’re gone, and it seems that perfume is advised against in so many places (gym, office, etc.) because of those with perfume sensitivities, I haven’t worn any in at least a decade.
