Currently Reading: Worn Journal

After four days of being snowed in, the mail came as a blessing , because included was the latest issue of Worn Fashion Journal. Now if you are not currently reading Worn, you are missing a real treat.  It’s an independently published magazine out of Canada, and as far as I know, there is nothing else like it.  While not strictly about vintage clothing, it does have a decidedly vintage bent, with articles about fashions from the past, interviews with collectors, and articles about issues concerning maintaining collections, all mixed with a dose of street fashion.

So if that is your sort of thing (and I’m betting it is), then you need to consider subscribing.  If you are not a subscriber, then you might be interested in a little prize I have for one of my readers.  For some odd reason, I slipped up and re-subscribed before my due date, so I got two issues in the mail.  That means I’ll be giving one away.

To enter, simply leave a comment on this thread.  For additional entries,  click the Tweet, StumbleUpon or Facebook buttons at the bottom of this post.  Just make sure you are registered at those places first, and then make sure you tell me in your post that you have additional entries.

If you are already a subscriber, feel free to leave your thoughts about Worn.  I especially enjoyed this month’s interview with collector and quilt artist Grant Heaps.  For those of you who knew her, he will remind you of our dear friend, Mary Catherine Lamb.

Contest is now closed.  Thanks so much for entering!

Sounds like my kind of magazine! Unique….not a typical one you’d find while waiting in line at the grocery store. Keeping my fingers crossed for a chance to preview it. Thanks for telling us about it.

Wow! I’d never heard of this magazine, but now I must get it. I’m obsessed with reviving gently worn clothing, or upcycling those past their prime.
    Please….I must have this!

  18. The magazine looks very interesting – please enter my name for your drawing. I don’t collect vintage clothing, but I do collect old photographs. What draws me to them is usually the vintage clothing and hats the women are wearing. I enjoy your blog.

  33. K2, it’s not an actual quilt, but it is pieced together in the manner of a patchwork quilt, made of small scraps of fabric.
